Last night was another Monday Night Mashfest and it was a huge turn out. From what I heard it was the largest one to date. A big shout out to everyone that one. I tried to spread the word out as much as I could. Its hard to say how many people showed up but I can say it was more than 50. One of my friends (Amber) was there and she got her game on for about 2 hours. Here is what she had to say about the event.
“The venue was top notch and the drink variety was good (save the tequila sunrise which was all tequila and no sunrise). Location was convenient and easy to get to. Would be nice to see some less known fighting games to reinforce a casual feel so people can enjoy trying new things instead of just flexing their muscles at their best game; to me that is what tournaments are for. Overall it was a good experience. “ -Amber (On twitter @grinningpancake)
A big thanks to Angelina, Ray, R0bSkii and Amber for showing up and joining in on the fun. Sorry I did not get any good pictures or video because the area was filled with low light which made it hard to get pictures other than the screens. Next time I will be sure to bring my camera and have some videos of a couple of the gamers. Speaking of next time. Mashfest 7 is on Sunday, July 22. It is a FREE UMVC3& MVC2 Tourney at the Village Pourhouse. The winner gets an eightarc Fusion Synthesis joystick! I am not sure if I will be there but that should be another great event for the NYC fighting community.
Update: Thankfully, New pictures was posted on the MashFest facebook page. Still low light but at least you can see people’s faces and get an idea of how many people showed up.
