It was pretty easy to find Nintendo’s booth at NY Comic Con, All you had to do was look up to see the big Wiiu sign. Nintendo had most of their hoilday games on display for the Wiiu and the 3DS. On the WiiU side you had Rayman Legends, New Super Mario Bros WiiU, Nintendo Land and Ninja Ninja Gaiden 3. On the 3DS Nintendo had playable demos of Epic Mickey, Pokemon Black 2 and White 2, New Super Mario Bros and the Adventure time game. The lines was long to get a hands on with the WiiU but also to get prizes. Nintendo gave out 1 ticket when you played a WiiU game so that you could either get a Pokemon gym bag or a WiiU beanie hat. I got both of them and they made for pretty cool prizes. I also got Paper Mario Stickers which I ended up giving away. For the 3DS games you got a Pokemon Black/ White 2 pouch to put a portable device in. The pouch itself is not the best quality but its the novelty that counts.
As far as the games itself goes I noticed some mixed reactions with the crowd. The new mario game had people feeling like it is not that much different from the WiiU version. Nintendo land got good reactions once people understood what the game actually was. Rayman Legends brought a lot of laughs and personally I feel that is the best exclusive game the Wiiu has to offer at this moment. Ninja Gaiden 3 looked great but from the demo I played it was a boring hack and slash. Like I said, The Wiiu got mixed reactions but I’m confident next year we will see better games.
