Highlights From PlayStation at Paris Games Week 2017

So many exciting thing’s to look forward to in the upcoming year for PS4 gamers. The anticipation grows. Today I attended PlayStation’s viewing of Paris Games Week at the PlayStation theater in Times Square. The following has just been announced and the best part of it all, I was there to witness it.

The long awaited sequel to Guacamelee is bringing back its beloved Mexican luchador, Juan Aguacate. Guacamelle 2 features 4 player co-op and also, enhanced chicken mechanics. I find it amusing that Juan’s last name means avocado in English. Well done DrinkBox Studios.

The Gardens Between represents surrealism. It carries a sense of adventure. Visually captivating. It is a puzzle adventure game based on two best friends that so happen to wind up in a mysterious world in a garden paradise. As the best friends go on exploring this mysterious paradise, they find themselves moving forward and backwards through time. They are also unlocking secrets within the gardens allowing them to reveal a story about friendships, childhood and growing up. A true test of friendship. There is no dialogue so it is up to you to figure it out.

Hong Kong Massacre holds a striking similarity to Max Payne. It is developed by a small independent Swedish game company called VRESKI, and it is their very first game debut. From just watching a  few seconds of the trailer, I can tell it has potential to succeed. It actually resembles John Wick with its violent dual-pistol style.

Locoroco 2 is set to be released December 9th of this year. Locoroco 2 is a platformer Video Game developed and published by Sony Entertainment.  It is how I would describe the most adorable game ever created. It is remastered and coming to PS4. Locoroco 2 is the sequel to Locoroco which was on the PSP.

For all The Sims fans out there, this ones for you. The Sims 4 is finally coming to PS4. Finally! The wait is over. I have been waiting for ages to play The Sims 4 on my PS4. It is exactly like the PC version but optimized for the PS4 controller. It is set to be released in November of this year.

Tennis World Tour makes its debut for PS4 in Spring 2018. If you are a total Tennis fanatic, I recommend looking into this. Tennis World Tour is developed by Breakpoint Studio. It is said that the game will feature a number of tennis professionals. Tennis World Tour is a simulation genre that is making a break through in sports games. It will also be released for Xbox One and PC in the near future.

PlayStation only games.

Marvel’s Spider-Man developed by Insomniac Games brings back your charming neighborhood Spider-Man in a action-adventure game which is set to be released in 2018. It appears to be open world with a lot of fast paced combat.

Detroit: Become Human surprised me with this new intense trailer. I felt sad, angry, worried and helpless all at the same time. My emotions were running wild. Detroit: Become Human is a neo-noir thriller developed by Quantic Dream. The trailer that I watched involved Kara, an android, who witnesses domestic violence. Your choices affect the outcome of the game. Detroit: Become Human takes gaming to a new level.

Horizon Zero Dawn’s first  DLC The Frozen Wilds shows Aloy taking on new challenges, and it involves a frozen harsh climate with big monsters. Horizon Zero Dawn’s DLC will be released on November 7. Check out the awesome trailer!

The remake of Shadow of the Colossus appeared to be visually satisfying. It is absolutely beautiful to look at it, especially on a 4K TV. On PS4 Pro, you will be able to play in 4K at 60 frames-per-second. It definitely is a nice perk on PS4 Pro. Shadow of the Colossus is developed by Sony’s Japan Studio and Bluepoint Games and is expected to be released on February 6, 2018.

No PlayStation conference would be complete without mentioning God of War. The new gameplay footage was focused on showing off the new weapons and melee combat action. God of War on PS4 is set for early 2018.

The conference ended with a teaser of The Last of us: Part 2. Gamers was on the edge of the seat as the theater screen went black. No one knew what in-game cut scene we was watching but we knew it looked stunning. Naughty Dog left us with more questions than answers but you can bet we will see more details at PlayStation Experience 2017.
